About Me

My photo
I'm a 20-something from Georgia who has a precious baby boy and a handsome husband! I love my Jesus and all things that make the South what it is! I'm a 2nd grade teacher and feel like a lucky girl to get to spend my days with awesome 7 and 8 year olds!

Bring it on!

Okay...okay....

  Resolutions are like so bad for me. I feel like I almost dread a new year because it's one more think I'm NOT going to follow through on. So, I vow to blog about this in hopes that I will be better! {Hopefully, this works!}
My husband, Greg and I, spent NYE at my sister and brother-in-laws last night. We had a low country boil, fire, just good clean fun....I digress.... On our drive, I posed the question, "Honey, what are your goals and aspirations for our 2012 together?" His reply, "Uh, to make more money." One track mind. So, I waited and I waited and I waited...no avail. I blurted out, "THANK YOU for asking! Yes, this year I'd like to make money but that's a given because I have a full-time job. I'd like to lose 50 pounds (I know, we all do.) but not due to dieting, due to a life-style change. Like, a complete do-over. I hate diets! They are misery pits....again...I digress...
I continued by telling him that I wanted to give more time, money, and resources to needy. {i.e. I totally LOVE volunteering!} Greg agreed. Thus...the resolution conversation began....Here goes!

1. We will start and finish Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. (Greg knows this is HUGE for me as I hate blowing money and he has ten hobbies....nuff said.)

2. We will get in shape. I will continue my 4 am gym workouts and add better food choices in hopes to get this excessive weight off! He will start running and join a men's league soccer team.

3. We will serve in a missions field. Yes, we already give money to missions, but we feel called to go on a missions trip. We're still praying about the place, but our goal is to go!

4. Finally, we will grow our family once more. Getting pregnant was difficult for us, but we are going full force one more time. We have agreed to seek the Lord in this journey and not feel discouraged when it's often so easy to do. {I think this is my least favorite resolution simply because I'm so scared.} However, I know the LORD makes all things work together for MY good! For this, I will rejoice!

Happy New Year my blogging friends! I pray peace, prosperity, and abundant blessing and happiness to you and yours!

Mexican food+friends/family=GREAT TIME

I always love the weekends, but it makes it especially wonderful when you can spend it with people you love. I feel extremely blessed that some of our very best friends are relatives! This weekend we had a very causal Mexican dinner at home. We served steak fajitas with all the fixings imaginable and mexican cheese rice...yes, homemade. Yes, insanely easy. No, not totally wiped out, because instead of using green chilies as the recipe calls for, I accidentally used jalapenos...WHOOPS! Kind of a big whoops, but it happens. Anyway, dinner was great, but the company was even better. My niece, MLB, is an absolute doll! She and my sweet baby, GAB, are 3 months apart and seem to really love one another's company. We could spend hours hanging out because the babies are content to be together. It makes it very easy for the adults when the babies entertain themselves-sorta. Now that GAB and MLB are mobile, they keep each other company and us busy chasing after them. At one point both MLB and GAB were leaned into our (never been used, not even set up) fireplace giggling hysterically because they had both been told not to. Of course, I didn't get a picture or a movie, but it was a classic moment. A great time was had by all!
(No photos from this particular occasion, but some of the above mentioned!)
 Some of our favorite people!

 Precious MLB

Easter...no smiles from these 2!

My whole world! GAB
